As a lifelong Allen County resident I am driven to be a strong advocate for positive change and conservative values in our community. Recognizing a greater opportunity to contribute, I have officially filed my candidacy for Allen County Council 3rd District. Allow me to briefly introduce myself and share a few thoughts relating to my candidacy.
Service to community has always been a fundamental part of my life. I began serving at the age of sixteen as a volunteer firefighter for Washington Township; and have continued through to my current position with the Fort Wayne Fire Department. These experiences have provided me the opportunity to witness the strength of the human spirit, the importance of inter-agency cooperation and the value of every human life. As Secretary of the Allen County Republican Party I have had the chance to participate in the successful rebuilding of our local party. Additionally, my involvement within the party has allowed me the unique opportunity to interact with numerous elected officials representing a wide range of constituents. This experience will prove valuable when working through the diverse challenges facing County Council.
Our community has recently realized some successes but we must be cautious to not fall complacent to achievement. Certainly challenges will lie ahead. A dynamic County Council can champion private sector investment in our community, develop greater cooperatives between local and regional neighbors, reduce unsolicited government intrusion; and encourage consistent, reliable upgrades to technology.
I am thrilled at the prospect of serving all the people of Allen County. The success of this campaign will certainly be reliant on a strong and dedicated grass roots effort. The encouragement of my wife Wendy, in combination with the dedication of many volunteers, has moved this campaign in the right direction from the start.
